Write for us

Stellar News Chronicle welcomes pitches that make astronomy and skywatching clearer, more perceptive or more enjoyable for general readers. A strong proposal has one central question and a useful reason to read now or return to it later.

What we welcome

We consider pitches on observing habits, astronomical ideas, instruments, sky maps, visual conventions and the history of how people have described the cosmos. We are especially interested in focused explanations, comparisons and pieces that help readers notice a specific idea without requiring specialist equipment or expertise.

Make the pitch specific

Send a working title, a short summary of the central point, the intended reader and a note on what your piece would add beyond a general overview. Tell us what sources or materials would support factual claims, and flag any limits, uncertainties or location-specific details. Do not send confidential information or claim experience you cannot substantiate.

Where to send it

Proposals are sent through the Contact page. Choose the editorial question option and include your pitch in the message. A proposal is not a promise of publication; please wait for a reply before sending a full draft.

Our point of view

Wonder grows when we learn how to look

A bright point can prompt a question; a little context can turn that question into a way of seeing. We make room for both.
